Websites

I have been making websites for a long time, both as a side job and as a hobby. Here are most of the websites I’ve built.

Professional Sites

Custom Care Therapy

A website for my mother’s business, an independent physical therapy company. The site is a relatively simple design, but the navigation menu is more complicated than it looks. It’s capable of variable-width drop-down menus if subpages are ever added. The search text javascript is of my own design.

House Family Dentistry

I made this website for my father’s business, House Family Dentistry. The purple and gold color scheme was used because my father is a die-hard LSU fan. It was re-worked as a Wordpress-based site in 2007.

Project Sites

Ronin Duck

This is the companion site for Ronin Duck, the Digipen games I’m currently worked on. It’s about a samurai duck who tries to save a helpless village from three evil lords. The game is scheduled for partial completion in the Summer 2009. This website was designed and created in one weekend. It features a green and gray color scheme, something I’d never successfully done before.

Leonardo da Vinci Personal Website

For my final project in website design class, I was assigned to make a personal website for a long-dead famous artist as if they lived today. I was required to have a gallery, blog, and résumé.

Shiny Pants!

“Shiny Pants!” was made for my independent study in website design. My teacher asked me to look at other websites for inspiration. Because a lot of sites use very shiny headers and such, I made this as a sort of parody. The entire site is about shininess.

Wii

For web design class, I had to make a simple promotional site. This one is for the Nintendo Wii. The site features image rollovers and a minimalistic design.

ninBeats

For web programming class, I had to make a partially functional “webstore.” I chose to sell video game songs in a site that bears a slight (design-wise) resemblance to the iTunes Music Store.

Multiple Selection Drop Down Demo

For web programming class, I was required to make a system by which a user could make multiple selections at once in a drop-down menu of some kind that updated a text field with the selected options. An optional requirement was to show, within the dropdown, what had been selected. This was my solution to the problem.

Javascript Animated Rollovers Without GIFs Demo

Using script.aculo.us code and a lot of elbow grease, I built a pretty stable system to allow for animated image rollovers for links that give simple Flash-esque effects without animated GIFs. The only issue is rolling over the links too fast, resulting in the hover effect getting stuck until it is hovered over again.
